My walk with VoiceMap gave me access to stories and histories that I could never have glimpsed otherwise. Rather than being an isolating kind of technology, I came away with the feeling that I'd connected with a real person. Can't wait to be doing more of these in the future.
What sets VoiceMap apart from any other walking tour app is that their tours are stories told by locals themselves. This way you’re not just getting all that generic touristy stuff, instead you’re getting a real insight into what the locals love about their cities.
I loved the tour, bought all of the New Orleans ones you had and have already recommended it to two people. As an amateur photographer who likes to take his time it was great. I will without a doubt continue to use the app.
We have been listening for voices that passionately share their experience of living their daily lives in Cape Town, and now we’re offering them the platform to share their love for the city with the rest of the world.
We are both designers - my husband is a UX designer - and we like the app. Its easy to understand and gives you all the information you need. We totally enjoyed our walk and we will do the others as well. It was a lot of fun and although we live in Berlin we learned things that we had never heard about before.
VoiceMap is a fantastic audio storytelling concept for both those who want to experience the unique intimacy of a GPS triggered walking tour, and for those who want to create them. It has opened up limitless possibilities for us as audio producers.
VoiceMap is a truly unique, immersive travel experience that breathes new life into city streets and historic districts. A must-have app for both casual adventurers and seasoned wayfarers alike!
Creating VoiceMap walking tours has been a smooth process, both in terms of the software, which is straightforward and largely intuitive, and the personal support from VoiceMap staff, who are competent and helpful. I can’t wait to create a few more!
I love the VoiceMap platform because it looks slick, it works well, and the people behind it are really dedicated. I researched five different platforms and VoiceMap blows them all away.
From a writer's perspective, working with VoiceMap has been an amazing experience. The storytelling tutorial is clear. The publishing tool is wonderfully interactive and easy to use. The team of skilled editors has been incredibly helpful and highly responsive. The whole process was seamless. I'll definitely be writing another story very soon.
For neighborhood historians, VoiceMap is an essential tool for immersing visitors in our local history. VoiceMap helps us provide historical context to users in our own words as they walk through the modern landscape at their own pace and on their own schedule. The knowledgeable and personalized support offered by the staff at VoiceMap throughout my program's development cycle, in addition to VoiceMap's intuitive and easy-to-use process, made the experience both creative and fun! I'm looking forward to developing my next immersive tour with VoiceMap!
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this "talk and walk". A real eye opener and superbly narrated. This is a first class experience, our first with VoiceMap and we look forward to using this program frequently in other cities. Keep up this excellent work and keep adding more tours like this one. We will certainly recommend this app to our friends.
VoiceMap brings the neighborhood, the city, the world to life by offering an eye-level perspective: personal, immediate, specific, idiosyncratic. Each story is simply a single grain of sand, but each is also a lens that reflects and refracts a dazzling world beyond.
Thank you so so much for having me be a part of this, I think this is a tremendous app that has many useful applications in a variety of fields, and is particularly intriguing within the music field.
This was a brilliant experience. I took my Bluetooth enabled speakers in my backpack and went on this 5 km Elfin Trail hike with a friend of mine. We were totally impressed by the accuracy of the GPS, and the brilliantly narrated fairy tale stories added a mystical touch to it all. When we lost the plot once, we were told so in no uncertain terms and hence easily managed to retrace our steps back to where the route was supposed to run. I will most definitely investigate other tours in and around Cape Town.. and when I am in Germany in July I'll check a few there too.. What a GREAT invention - worth every cent! Thank you!
We have traveled to London many times and have taken many walking tours with guides. It really was convenient to be able to take a voice tour when we wanted to and not have to depend on a schedule. We enjoyed the humorous comments and descriptions you made. One time we found ourselves between activities and decided to take anther tour to take advantage of the time we had left. We will be visiting London again in November and hoping that even more VoiceMap tours will be available.
