Hi, I’m Nadine. Born and raised in Germany, I have called the Netherlands home for the past ten years—and somewhere along the way, I truly became a Dutch local. I speak the language fluently, cycle through wind and rain without complaint (well, almost), check the rain radar daily, and stay on top of the Albert Heijn Bonus offers.
What started as a study abroad turned into a feeling of home in this tiny yet incredibly innovative country. A country built below sea level, shaped by sustainable thinking, and a culture that looks forward. I am fan of the Dutch people who are famously direct—yes but also open and gezellig (cozy).
Rotterdam has a special place in my heart, is is unlike any other Dutch city. Shaped by the devastation of World War II, it was rebuilt with imagination for the new instead of rebuilding what was. Every time I bike through the city, I see an area under construction, a new innovative skyscraper rising from the ground.
Because I wasn’t born here, I also remember what it feels like to arrive to Rotterdam for the first time. I understand that you want to visit the yellow cube houses and the famous Markthal as much as you want to discover a more quiet and local Rotterdam like Historic Delfshaven. That’s why I offer tours for both perspectives: Famous sights as well as hidden local spots.
I hope that my tours will help you to fall in love with the Netherlands - just as I did when I first moved here. Come discover Rotterdam with me!
