Abu Dhabi Urban Treasures Food Tour

Bite into the juicy history of Abu Dhabi’s Al Zahiyah neighborhood, known locally as the Tourist Club Area. It’s one of the city’s oldest and most distinctive corners, featuring iconic buildings from the 70s and 80s and quiet backstreets that come alive at night. On this walking tour, you’ll see four off-the-beaten-track eateries that showcase the city’s status as a foodie haven. I’ll share the details of our rich (and delicious) delicacies with you and fill you in on the traditions that shaped Abu Dhabi’s food scene.

Along the way, you’ll learn that food isn’t only a gateway to a city’s cultural heritage, it’s a pathway to the past too. We’ll start our culinary journey outside Al Ibrahimi Restaurant, one of the oldest eateries in the area with a reputation for the best ‘Mexican-style’ chicken shawarma. From there, you’ll delight your taste buds at one of UAE’s best bakeries, Al Sultan Bakeries, and the India Palace Restaurant where you’ll find authentic north Indian cuisine. The tour ends in front of the ever-popular Corniche Bakeries where you’ll find foreign baked goods as well as local fare.
