On this 90-minute walking tour, you’ll explore the northern neighborhoods of Toledo's Old West End, with its many wonderful buildings including Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral. Along the way, you’ll take in one of the largest collections of Victorian, Edwardian, and Arts and Crafts homes in the United States, and hear stories about the people behind them. You’ll also hear about how Toledo’s sister city in Spain, influenced this historical Old West End district.
If you love classic design and a good story, this stroll back in time won’t disappoint. Your host, Tedd Long, is joined by Dr. Ted Ligibel, director emeritus of Eastern Michigan University’s award-winning Historic Preservation program, who began his career in 1974 with the Landmarks Committee of the Maumee Valley Historical Society. We look forward to sharing with you the rich history and glorious architectural styles of Toledo’s Old West End, and in particular, the grace and beauty of Rosary Cathedral.
