The Manasquan Reservoir Braille Trail: A Guide to its Biodiversity
About the Tour
Welcome to the Manasquan Reservoir Environmental Center. This unique park, located in Howell, New Jersey features a 770-acre reservoir that is part of a larger 1,208-acre site of woods and wetlands.
On this 30-minute walking tour through the pine-oak forest along the edges of the reservoir, you’ll learn about the center’s biodiversity work.
The center promotes the protection of water resources, animal habitats, and wildlife. It’s both a water source for towns and utilities, and a natural setting for recreation and outdoor pursuits.
The intent of its designers was to create a place where wildlife could thrive and coexist with our many visitors, eager to experience this special place for themselves and to form lasting memories.
On this tour, you’ll learn about local wildlife, such as bald eagles, ospreys, song birds, bats, and amphibians before ending back at the Manasquan Reservoir Visitor Center.
