The Heart of Hollywood Style: A Beverly Hills Walking Tour
About the Tour
Today, Beverly Hills is synonymous with luxury, fame, and the kind of glamour that draws visitors from around the world. But this glittering enclave didn’t start out that way. On this immersive walking tour, you’ll uncover how a stretch of barren desert and humble lima bean fields transformed into the global symbol of celebrity lifestyle we know today.
We begin at the beloved Beverly Hills sign in the Garden Park, where you’ll hear the city’s unexpected origin story — one that starts not with movie stars, but with railroads. From there, we make our way to the crown jewel of the neighborhood: Rodeo Drive. Once a simple bridle path where horses had the right of way, it’s now a world-famous fashion runway lined with couture boutiques and the celebrated Walk of Style, where bronze plaques honor the designers who shaped the industry.
As we wander through these storied streets, you’ll hear the tales behind iconic landmarks, architectural marvels, and the celebrity hideaways that helped define Beverly Hills’ mystique. The tour concludes on Roxbury Drive, once nicknamed the “Street of the Stars,” where legends like Lucille Ball and Jimmy Stewart made their homes.
During this 75‑minute stroll, you’ll also:
- Admire Beverly Hills City Hall and the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, where Fred Astaire once tap‑danced across marble floors
- Explore the futuristic Union 76 gas station, a space‑age gem designed by the architect behind LAX’s iconic Theme Building
- Visit Anderton Court Shops, the only retail project ever designed by Frank Lloyd Wright
- Stand before the historic Beverly Wilshire Hotel, famed for Pretty Woman and built atop a former racetrack
- Discover where stars like Frank Sinatra and Elizabeth Taylor dined at legendary hotspots such as La Scala
- See the whimsical Witch’s House, a storybook cottage that began as a film set before becoming a beloved local treasure
- Marvel at the restored Electric Fountain, a 1931 masterpiece featuring a Tongva tribe member in prayer, surrounded by glowing ceramic tiles
By the end of your walk, you’ll have uncovered how Beverly Hills reinvented itself — again and again — to become the glamorous, star‑studded destination the world adores.
Step into the story. The sparkle of Beverly Hills is waiting for you.
