About the Tour

Op deze wandeling volgen we in de voetsporen van Chaucer en Shakespeare over de London Bridge naar de zuidelijke oever van de Thames. Hier is het district Southwark, dat vroeger een duistere reputatie had, omdat het de entertainment, productie en handel voorzag die stedelingen wilden maar niet toegestaan waren binnen de grenzen van de stad. Je bezoekt oude herbergen, kerken, ziekenhuizen, markten en gevangenissen, die bijna 2.000 jaar geschiedenis van Londen beslaan. De wandeling eindigt bij het enorme voormalige bankside-elektriciteitsstation, nu omgebouwd tot een van de belangrijkste toeristische attracties van Londen - de Tate Modern Art Gallery.
