Lisbon’s historic neighbourhoods: a walk through Baixa, Mouraria and Graça
About the Tour
Join me on a walking tour through some of Lisbon's most historic neighbourhoods. I’ve been a tour guide here for over five years and I love this city because each neighbourhood has its own story and character.
We start the tour in downtown Lisbon, with a pragmatic statesman and an earthquake that shook the city to its core. We’ll end it in Graça, with a sweeping view of the city and harbour below. Along the way, we'll pass colourful mosaics, regal squares and captivating street art.
A few of the highlights you can look forward to are:
- Discovering where our hidden churches come from
- Hearing about tolerance in São Domingos Square
- Finding an interesting blend of tradition and multiculturalism in Mouraria
- Discovering Fado music
- Relaxing in the Garden of Cerca where you can catch your breath before our final breathtaking stop.
