A Scenic Stroll around the Currumbin Estuary and Mangrove Boardwalk
About the Tour
Join me on a walking tour across the Gold Coast’s picturesque Currumbin Estuary, Beree-Badalla Reserve and Tarrabora Reserve, filled with interesting tidbits and stunning views over these sparkling waterways.
Our walk starts at Currumbin Creek and follows an easy path over the bridge to the entrance of the Mangrove Boardwalk. We’ll continue our stroll through the sheltered Beree-Badalla Reserve and Tarrabora Reserve, surrounded by indigenous vegetation, birdlife and plenty of views of the tranquil Tarrabora inlet. Our journey ends at Surf Beach, where you’ll be greeted with a spectacular vista past Burleigh Hill to Surfers Paradise.
My name is Jannette and I’ve lived in Currumbin for the past 25 years. I can’t wait to share the local fishing, skiing, snorkeling and surfing spots with you. Along the way, I’ll also point out various picnic places and parks where you can take a break and enjoy the scenery. If you’re lucky, you may even see some Australian wildlife.
There's no need to hurry, just take it all in and enjoy the experience. By the end of our walk, I hope you love the area as much as I do.

Tips
Places to stop along the way
Photos stops are abundant along the route, the Pelican sculptures, views from the bridge, the boardwalk aspects across the water are lovely, and of course the specactular view at the end from the beach up to Surfers Paradise
Best time of day
This is a delightful walk most times of the day from early morning until sunset at summer time as parts are shaded, but best for mornings to avoid the heat of summer afternoons. During the cooler months mornings are better as the breeze tends to come up in the afternoon.
Precautions
A backpack is handy for water and there are water filling stations along the way. For ease of walking it is better to take as little as possible, but maybe enough money if you fancy a cup of coffee or juice at the Dune Cafe when you reach there. The route is usually safe but always be cautious and take only necessary items.
