I’m Richard Gasseling — a Dutch-born tour guide and long-time resident of Stockport, Manchester, where I live with my wife and two boys.

In my younger years I travelled widely, exploring countries and cultures across the world, but these days I’ve discovered that some of the most rewarding adventures are right here in the UK. From historic cities and atmospheric ports to quiet villages and sweeping rural landscapes, I love delving into the places that many people overlook.

Alongside my career at a leading global sports brand, I channel my passion for storytelling into guiding. What excites me most is uncovering the layers of history, character, and local color that give each place its own personality. Whether we’re wandering through a lively city center, strolling around a charming market town, or following a footpath into the countryside, I aim to bring stories to life in a way that feels vivid, human, and memorable.
