I was born and raised in Oxford and it's a privilege to walk around the spectacular buildings and institutions of our wonderful city knowing that there will be a great pub just around the next corner.

All the pubs I've included on this tour have genuine character and I’ve personally researched each and every one them very thoroughly, which has resulted in many happy evenings in all of them…

Over the years there used to be student pubs (Gown) & Oxford locals pubs (Town) but this is no longer the case and everyone is welcome in all pubs which enhances the atmosphere and leads to a more inclusive and congenial atmosphere.

The pub scene in Oxford has inevitably changed over the years with old favourites being closed down and new pubs opening. Along with the relatively recent interest in Craft Ales this has lead to there being more choice and better quality across the board, so long may it continue.

This pub tour was put together to celebrate the historic pubs we have in the city, there are of course many more that I haven't included, so we'll save those for another day. Let me know in the comments if you would be interested in Pub Tour Two!
