Mark Higgins

A lifelong storyteller, Mark has lived and worked in downtown Moncton for most of his adult life. Over more than 30 years as a writer, journalist and communication professional, he has connected people with information and stories that bring them meaning and understanding.

Mark is a regular commentator on CBC Radio Moncton's City Views panel, where he joins other engaged citizens in helping map the future of the city. This reflects his long dedication to understanding the factors at play in making the city what it is.

In 2025 Mark created Unexpected Moncton Walking Tours expressly to help visitors and locals discover the hidden gems and surprising history that has fuelled the city's growth and success. Since then he has shared his tales of the city with guests from four continents, providing universal 5-star comments like:

Since then he has tirelessly researched the amazing impact to the river on the community over the centuries.
