Finding California ~ Stephen Nett

I live on California’s wild Pacific coast and have been in love with the wonders of California since childhood. As a Certified California Naturalist, nature journalist, book author, guide and photographer, I’ve spent decades traveling, exploring and sharing what I’ve discovered about California’s unique outdoor features, creatures and secrets.

I’ve also had the incredible opportunity to interview experts, historians, tribal leaders and specialists - from mountain lion rescuers to alpine trail builders, redwood climbers to wild salmon taggers, wildfire fighters to diving abalone protectors, butterfly tenders to oak forest restorers.

My stories and images of California’s parks and unique wildlands have been locally and nationally published in newspapers, State and Regional Park publications, and magazines. I also create books, tours and guides for children and adult travelers.

A good tour takes us to see wonderful places - but a great tour, I believe, unveils the fascinating things going on around you when you get there.
