I was born in Bologna Italy more than 50 years ago in a XVII century house called Sostegno Grassi beside the Navile canal, which connected Bologna to Venice in the Middle Ages. Growing up here meant growing up inside history. A history I later studied formally at university.
Those studies took me across Europe, North America and West Africa, where I'm still leading groups today. Years of guiding in Senegal and beyond taught me how to read a city through its people as much as its buildings, and that turns out to be just as useful in Bologna as anywhere.
A few years ago, my town became an interesting tourist destination, so joining my guiding experience in West Africa and my love and passion for my city, I've started to lead groups here too. I've found it easier than I thought because I was born here, and all the places I visit with guests remind me of my childhood and roots. Bologna is also the birthplace of Ducati and the Maserati brothers, so it's a mix of medieval history and engineering passion that I love sharing.
