I'm Chen, originally from Ontario and now based in Québec City. I've travelled all around the world and lived in China, Canada, the UK and Slovakia. I love exploring different cultures and languages, and getting to know a place beyond its most familiar sights.
Walking is my favourite way to explore. I enjoy noticing the buildings, following an interesting street and seeing how one neighbourhood differs from the next. I'm interested in the history, but also in what everyday life looks like for the people who live there.
Languages are a big part of that curiosity. I'm currently learning French, and living in Québec gives me plenty of opportunities to practise. Being able to have a conversation in another language is rewarding, even when finding the right words takes a little patience.
Having lived abroad, I enjoy both sides of discovering somewhere: the excitement of arriving and the familiarity that develops when you start building a routine. After more than 100 cities, there are still plenty of places I'd love to get to know.
