Agnes von Witzleben

Agnes von Witzleben is the host persona of Berlin Footnote, a bilingual Berlin audio-walk, podcast, and micro-museum project. Agnes, a self-declared cosmopolitan globalist, opportunistic archivist, and trespasser in other people’s mythologies is an activator and deactivator of portals, tracking the city’s vortices, historical currents, magnetic anomalies, and fixed points of memory.

Nobody is entirely sure whether Agnes is a guide, a ghost, a minor bureaucratic error, or simply the person who got there first and started talking. He appears wherever Berlin has forgotten to explain itself properly: at plaques, puddles, cinemas, cafés, courtyards, vanished villages, suspiciously meaningful benches, and other places where the past refuses to stay politely buried.

His method is part walking tour, part séance, part footnote that slipped its academic leash.
