Scott Fitzgerald's beginnings, and the rivalry between Minneapolis and St. Paul. In the Footsteps of Prince: Downtown Minneapolis Walking Tour
On this 75-minute tour, we’ll travel through the heart of Princedom to see the Guitar Shop where the artist first jammed in the 70’s, the Orpheum Theatre where Prince was one of the first black musicians to play, and The Dakota Club, which he visited just a few days before he died. As you stroll down Nicollet Avenue, you’ll pass the Crystal Court balcony featured in Purple Rain and the Schmitt Music Wall mural where Prince had his iconic first photo shoot.
Minnesota's Storied City: A Walking Tour to St. Paul's State Capitol
Our tour of St. Paul’s history begins in Rice Park, in front of the Landmark Center, the city's cultural hub and “St.Paul's very own castle”. You'll make your way down the Mississippi River to look out where the Dakota village of Kaposia was once located. From Union Depot, the city’s once bustling Beaux Arts-style train station, you'll journey through St. Paul's Lowertown to the Minnesota State Capitol, where you'll find out how architect Cass Gilbert won the commission for this magnificent building.
Days of Rage, Nights of Fire: A History Tour of Midtown Minneapolis
This tour begins at George Floyd Square and ends at the site of the former Minneapolis Police Department’s Third Precinct. You’ll head to Lake Street via Powderhorn Park, where you’ll hear poet Ed Bok Lee read his love letter to a neighborhood, Powderhorn.
