As a native of Johannesburg, 700 kilometres from the ocean, when I moved down to Cape Town, more than a decade ago, I had to live within sight of the sea. I have been a Sea Point resident since then. I am an enthusiastic jogger, and would say that I know the Promenade pretty well, having trundled its length a few a times a week over that entire time.
