I have been a VoiceMap guide for almost a decade, while also working as the head of history at a north London school. VoiceMap allows me to take my enthusiasm, curiosity and expertise out of the classroom and put it into the streets of London and every tour I write. Researching, writing and presenting these walks allows me to explore and share my passion for the rich past and scintilating present of London life.
Having both an MA in Art History (UCL) and in History (QMUL) I am passionate about writing substantive and informative tours that offer a depth and richness that many others don't. I aim to lift the lid on all aspects of London and its past, often around a specific period, person or place.
I am a keen cook, a dabbler in perfume making, a fan of theatre, literature, film, politics, economics...pretty much everything!...which is all to say that my priority when planning and writing a tour is to hunt down and reveal as many fascinating tidbits of London's life and history a I can, while keeping it coherent and thoughtful.
