Notice the unique architecture of this building. It was built in 1891, by a military group the Hussars. They were a troop of mounted rangers raised by General James Oglethorpe to protect the colony of Savannah from the Spanish and Indians. This military group fought in the Revolutionary War, Siege of Savannah, Civil War, both World Wars, Korean War and Vietnam. The Hussars have represented Savannah in all the wars and still continue as an active unit in the Georgia Army National Guard.
