The Turquoise Trail, this portion of which winds through Madrid, was a pre-Colombian trade route which still runs down to Mexico City and beyond. Locally-mined turquoise was traded for jungle rarities such as exotic birds, hence “the Trading Bird.” In addition to turquoise, this shop specializes in world-renowned Mata Ortiz pottery.

When finished here, continue on to next shop north, Conley Studio.

Preview mode limited to first 3 locations.
