About the Tour

Why are we drawn to certain cities? Perhaps because of a story read in childhood. Or a chance teenage meeting. Or maybe simply because the place touches us, embodying in its tribes, towers and history an aspect of our understanding of what it means to be human. Parıs is about romantic love. New York means energy. And Berlin…? Berlin is all about volatility and this walk -- with best-selling author Rory MacLean -- takes you into the heart of Berlin's tumultuous history, from Kaiser to Hitler, Kennedy to national rebirth.

Comments

Thanks for your comment. Like any big city, Berlin often hosts public events, necessitating the closure of roads or sidewalks. I am sorry to hear that you and your parents found part of your path blocked by temporary security barriers. I believe Voicemap has offered you a free tour to compensate you for your disappointment.

I wouldn’t recommend. The tour asks you to go down a corridor that is blocked by security barriers. With elderly parents in tow, ended the tour early.
