I'm an author, historian, and Tucson resident. I earned an MA in U.S. history from the University of Arizona in 1999 and led my first tour for Pima Community College that same year. I've spent 47 years teaching Arizona history and built a career as Historian at the Arizona Historical Society, and eventually working with more than seventy local history museums.
As an author and editor for Rio Nueva Publishers, now Globe Pequot, I've written or co-written six books on Arizona history, several of them award-winners, and edited a dozen more on Native American culture and Southwest travel.
Since retiring from the Historical Society, I've been in demand as a public speaker at conventions, retirement resorts, senior living communities, and clubs. My talks tend to focus on Arizona history, though I've recently branched out into popular culture as well with topics such as Hollywood Cowboys, Route 66, and Classic TV Westerns.
