I’m Gregory, founder and flavor-obsessed force behind Basque Bites—your culinary passport to San Sebastián and the Basque Country. This VoiceMap audio tour is your self-guided invite into the flavors, traditions, and secrets of the city. Part history, part storytime, and all delicious.
Originally a chef from California, I trained at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, earned a James Beard Foundation scholarship, and cooked across France and Spain before landing in this mythical seaside town. What was meant to be a short stay turned into a decade-long love affair with the food, culture, and fiercely proud people of Euskadi—aka the Basque Country.
With Basque Bites, I lead food tours, host pintxo crawls and wine tastings, design multi-day excursions, and run a micro-winery producing natural reds and rosés from La Rioja and Navarra. I also consult and produce culinary events across Europe and the U.S.
