I am a sound artist, a sound designer and a bird watcher. I spent years as a visual artist before sound caught my ear. I walk the trails every day. My sound works have aired nationally on National Public Radio. I was awarded a Maine Artist Fellowship and an Artist-In-Residency at Shenandoah National Park.
The Eastern Promenade is one of the most beautiful vistas in Portland, Maine. The walk starts with a spectacular overlook of Casco Bay and the islands, and continues down by the waterfront. Included are personal, historical and humorous recollections from a local who grew up in the neighborhood, and sounds from the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad. I invite you to discover through sight and sound the Eastern Promenade, a place I walk - in all seasons. To learn more about my sound work, visit: https://dianneballonsound.com
