Always keep your eyes on the road and make sure you move over and give plenty of space to anybody stopped on the side of the road. In 2012, Illinois State Trooper Kyle Deatherage was tragically killed here during a routine traffic stop, when a truck failed to give the trooper plenty of space when Kyle was on the side of the road dealing with a motorist. Kyle was 32 years old and left behind a wife and two young children.
