Tour Locations | Cowbells, Chalets and Balthus: A Swiss Alpine Village Excursion
In Front of Rossinière Station
Hello. A warm welcome to the Village of Rossinière, the first village in the Pays d'Enhaut region of the Swiss Alps. My name is Guy and I am delighted to share with you the charm and the history of this village, that I've discovered since I moved here in 2009.
You should be standing in front of the Rossiniere railway station, with your back to the waiting room, looking south, across the valley.
We are going to be walking to the Grand Chalet which is the oldest inhabited wooden building in Switzerland. As we walk, I'll be telling you a little about the geography and history of this region.
So, let's begin!
Turn left, walk up the stairs and continue straight, parallel to the railway tracks. You're heading in the direction of Château d'Oex.
While you walk, I'll briefly explain how VoiceMap works.
It uses your location to play audio automatically, at the right time and place. This means that you can put your phone away now. Don't worry if I'm silent at times when I'm not giving directions or telling stories. There's a map on your screen if you ever feel lost, and if you do get way off track without noticing, VoiceMap will let you know.
Keep going. You'll hear from me shortly.
