The Chairfather: Père Lachaise Part I
Pyramid Tomb of Quintin Craufurd
Here's the tomb of Quintin Craufurd, a Scot who was a francophile and an unabashed royal family fanboy. He tried to help them escape during the French Revolution, then wrote gushingly about Louis and Marie after they were beheaded.
There are 21 pyramid graves in Père Lachaise, and I haven't the slightest idea why Craufurd chose his. Likely because he could, having amassed a fortune through inheritance, and with the British East India company.
Enough with giving equal time to the monarchists! Let's leave Craufurd on our right and continue on Chemin des Anglais.
