    Victoria Monument

A church, St George’s, was built here in 1734 and stood on the site until 1899.
This was demolished and replaced by the Queen Victoria monument in 1902, 20 months after her death.

If you walk to the right hand side of the monument you will find a bronze plaque depicting the castle.

Feel free to spend some time here. But let me first show you where to go next.

Standing with your back to the monument, you're going to cross the street using the traffic lights to the left. They lead to Castle Street.

I will meet you on the other side of the road.

Preview mode limited to first 3 locations.
