La Macarena to Parque Nacional
At the corner, turn right to cross the road and continue walking.
Legend has it that the late Nobel prize winner for literature, Gabriel García Márquez, was living here when he was almost arrested because of false accusations that he was a rebel against the state. A call made by one of his admirers inside the government forewarned him and he was able to escape to the Mexican embassy, where he applied for asylum.
It is also the barrio where the poets dream and where you can hear the sounds of the music being rehearsed in apartments or houses, and being played in some bars and restaurants.
Keep walking straight.
