To ensure that your tracks are broadly consistent with others on VoiceMap, your Audacity settings need to match ours.
- The first step is opening up Audacity and clicking on the Edit menu. Select Preferences, then Devices.
- You’ll see a playback drop-down menu, where you can choose your headphones (if you’re using any).
- Under the recording drop-down menu, select your mic as the device and set the channels to mono.
- Now go to the Quality tab. Check that the Default sample rate is 44100 Hz, and change the Default sample format to 16 bit.
