Milo de Croton
This is Milo of Croton a wrestler six times champion in the Olympic games. This statue depicts his demise when he got his hand stuck while attempting to fell a tree, and a lion devoured him. Walk around it and admire the muscle definition of the subjects, the clever evoking of movement and the realistic details, like the lion's claws digging into Milo's back.
Continue down the South side of the Royal Alley and stop at the third pedestal on the left.
