Grand statue of Ino et Melicerte
Turn left here and stop at the grand statue with two figures. The taller one is Ino, queen of the seas. I love how her outstretched hands extend delicately against the sky.
The other is her son Melicertes, guardian of ships. They face the Grand Canal, where mock naval conflicts were waged, often with a three-masted battleship firing cannons, to the delight of visitors in the 17th century.
Turn your back on Ino and Melicertes and walk straight forward to the fountain in front of you.
