    Vancouver Trees

When the first explorers arrived here in 1792, what they noticed about the lower mainland were the enormous trees that grew in the area. Trees like Douglas Firs grew up to 30 meters tall and Cedar trees 6 meters across.
Most of the giant trees the explorers encountered were logged for timber by 1880.

Nowadays the big trees are often overlooked due to the many activities available in Stanley park.
