• LOCATION 2 | Cycling the Stanley Park Seawall

    Anti biking History

Biking the Seawall is a favorite pastime of Vancourites and tourists alike, but it wasn’t always legal. In the 70’s conflict between cyclists and pedestrians caused the banning of bicycles on the seawall.
In 1984 the problem was finally resolved and the bike lane designated one-way counterclockwise.
Nowadays it's hard to imagine Stanley park without cyclists. The length of the seawall makes it a perfect biking route for the casual cyclist and a great way to see the Vancouver harbour from different view points.
Unlike the rest of Canada, Vancouver has a mild climate which encourages cycling.
