• LOCATION 24 | Downtown Reno: From the Reno Arch to the Truckee River

    Trains

Turn left here on Commercial Avenue and walk 1 block along the parking garage.

    (Pause 5 seconds)

Across the street to your right is the Reno Amtrak Station. You can still take the train from here to Sacramento and San Francisco to the west, and Elko, Salt Lake City and all the way to Chicago to the east. As we’ve talked about a little bit, the railroad was integral in Reno’s founding. Though Carson City and Virginia City were originally bigger, the construction of the Transcontinental Railroad turned Reno into an important hub for train passengers and freight.

    Keep going towards Center Street.
