Philadelphia's Lost Waterfront
Penny Pot Tavern--new
Look to your left at the buildings one block away. At the roofline of the buildings near Vine Street, you will see a quarter-sized replica of the Penny Pot Tavern. In the late 1600s and early 1700s, the pub sold beer for “a penny a pot," about half the price of beer elsewhere. The replica was built in the 1970s at the Penny Pot Tavern's original location by the building's owner.
