Philadelphia's Lost Waterfront
2nd and Market (High) Streets
Keep going straight. This is one of the most historic neighborhoods in the States. It was among the first areas settled by Europeans in the mid-1600s, and was the nation’s first great crucible of commerce, finance, culture, and religion.
But by the 1950s, Old City had outlived its usefulness and became dilapidated. Today, it has many restaurants and stores, and is a popular residential area.
