    Looking around to your left, you can see a building up on a hill with a square tower with a clock at the top.


    This is known as the “Peace Tower” and the building is the centre block of the Canadian Parliament Buildings, home of the national government assembly. The attached round building on this side is the Parliamentary Library.

    Below this building, to your left, are the end locks of the Rideau Canal. A good many of the tall buildings you can see on both sides of the river are government offices.

    Looking along the bridge that crosses the Ottawa directly below you, on the far shore, you can see two modern buildings.

    These are the home of the Canadian Museum of History, well worth a visit.
