A Walk Around Lake Eola
Lake Eola Park
Welcome to the most beautiful walk in Orlando! My name is Mandy, and I am from Mosquito County Tours.
You should be standing on the paved walkway. If you're facing the lake, the green amphitheater should be just to your left.
Before we take off on our walk today, let's stay here for a moment and I'll tell you what we have in store.
We are going to make a clockwise loop around the lake on this paved walkway. The total distance is 9 tenths of a mile. There are two public restrooms with water fountains on the way, and I will be sure and point them out to you.
I will be telling you about the history of this area, describing some of the various structures, and telling you about the many public art instalments. The tour is about 40 minutes, with a few stops along the way.
If you decide to stop and visit any of the opportunities I recommend along the way, this tour might take you a couple of hours. There are opportunities for food, drink, boat rides, bird feeding, popsicles, as well as plenty of photo opportunities! Be sure you have money in your parking meter to cover the amount of time you think you'll spend here before we get started.
Also, you might want to have some quarters in your pocket if you'd like to feed the swans. If you need to run back to you car before we get going, now is a great time to do that. Just pause the tour, then come back to this spot and resume it.
So, let's get going.
With the lake on your right, start walking along the paved walkway.
While you walk, I'll briefly explain how VoiceMap works.
It uses your location to play audio automatically, at the right time and place. This means that you can put your phone away now. Don't worry if I'm silent for a while, when I'm not giving directions or telling stories. There's a map on your screen if you ever feel lost, and if you do get way off track without noticing, VoiceMap will let you know.
