A Walk in the Park: City Park New Orleans
Enter an "Urban Eden"
Welcome to City Park.
You should be standing at a bus shelter and a map of the park, right next to the beautiful Monteleone Pillars that mark the main entrance. They were erected in memory of former park commissioner Antonio Monteleone in 1914. The 25-foot columns stand at the beginning of Lelong Avenue which takes you into the park and directly to the beautiful New Orleans Museum of Art in the distance. That's where we're going to go.
With the pillars on your right, cross the road ahead and begin following the long, straight walkway lined with oaks and crepe myrtle trees. We'll follow it toward the museum.
I'll tell you how this will work as we walk. VoiceMap uses location aware audio; the next track will begin playing automatically when you reach the next location. Stretches of silence are normal. If you get lost you can refer to the map on your screen, but otherwise you can put the phone in your pocket and enjoy the journey.
