Thomas Kinkade Gallery / Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa Shops

Take a break for a minute and have a seat on the bench out in front of the Thomas Kinkade Gallery.

Across the street and to your right is the entrance to the Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa which we will explore later.

The first of the Plaza Hotel shops is the gallery of the American painter Thomas Kinkade. Described as the “Painter of Light,” Kinkade’s is famous for his paintings of very "Carmel Cottagey" scenes and he actually had a residence in Carmel until his death in 2012. You can see why 1 in 20 homes have one of his paintings if the gallery is open.

Next door is The Wine Experience. It is open daily from 3 pm to 9 pm and on weekends they open at noon. This tasting room provides a unique set of services, from wine tasting to custom blending and bottle label personalization. They offer a range of products for both wine novices and enthusiasts, all at affordable pricing.

So take some time and visit the gallery or the wine experience or continue walking straight. I will catch up with you up ahead.

Preview mode limited to first 3 locations.
