As you walk, have a look to your left at the one story English Tudor style house with teal color half timbering over lighter stucco. That's Honeymoon Cottage. A gate with a 10-lite glass window separates the residence from the one car garage.
This was actually the first home Comstock built for Swain. It cost $2100 to build.
In 1929 Swain decided to sell these cottages. His ad in the Carmelite newspaper stated “A group of five cottages at the head of Ocean Avenue, overlooking the sea; designed and built by Hugh Comstock; equipped with electric stoves and many clever conveniences and fully furnished is for sale, $5,200 to $5,500 each.”
