Devendorf Park and Carmel Plaza - End of Walk on Monterey Peninsula, California audio tour Carmel-by-the-Sea: Fairy Tale Houses Walking Tour

This is Devendorf Park and it's where I'll be leaving you.

The city of Carmel purchased Devendorf Park from Frank Devendorf in 1922. It is one square block of urban green space.

You will find memorials to Carmel Veterans from World War II, Korea, and Vietnam in this park. There is also an I-beam from the World Trade Center that serves as a memorial of 9/11.

If you make your way across the park you'll pass one of Carmel’s largest trees, the majestic Coastal Live oak.

If you continue on to the opposite corner of the park and then cross Ocean Avenue at the crosswalk you'll get to the Carmel Plaza shopping zone.

Thank you for joining me today. I hope you have enjoyed this glimpse of Carmel’s Historic Hill District and Comstock’s fairy tale cottages.

I would greatly appreciate it if you took a moment to rate the tour or leave a comment.
