    Guastalla Gardens

Just ahead of you on your left you’ll see the entrance to a park.

Stop for a moment at the entrance.

This is the oldest park in Milan and was once part of a charitable school established in 1555 by wealthy widow, Countess Ludovica Torelli of Guastalla. She provided young girls from the nobility who were very poor with an education and a dowry if they became a nun or got married. There wasn’t really any other option open to them.

You might want to stop here for a while and enter the lovely park on your left. If you do put your phone somewhere safe and take a look at the Baroque fish pond and enjoy a stroll amid the many varieties of secular trees.

When you're done with the park, once you’re out turn left and keep walking down the same road.

Preview mode limited to first 3 locations.
