    Entrance to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele

Make your way into the Galleria.

As you enter, to your right there is the entrance of the Leonardo Museum, dedicated to projects and sketches by Leonardo da Vinci.

The Galleria was started in 1867 and is named after Vittorio Emanuele, first King of Italy in 1861. It was built as the first covered shopping center in the world with shops as well as restaurants and cafés. It became an important meeting point for artists, noble families and performers of Scala theatre. Still today it is considered the elegant sitting room of the city, salotto elegante, and you can find some of the best and most exclusive shops,as well as historical restaurants and cafés, such as Camparino, Biffi and Savini.

Continue through the Galleria. I'll meet you in the centre, beneath the dome.

Preview mode limited to first 3 locations.
