    Castello Sforzesco Rocchetta courtyard

Stop here in this beautiful courtyard, once the safest place of the Castle. Thanks to gates and drawbridges it could be completely closed and the moat would prevent the attacks. That's why here you can also find the room dedicated to the incredible treasure of the dukes who lived here. It's sometimes opened to host exhibitions.

Take a look at the traditional floor made of pebbles, at the walls made in "graffiti" style and imagine the original elegant aspect of it, when it was full of decorations and colors. As you see the castle was built with bricks, the traditional building material of Milan buildings. They were so ubiquitous that Milan became known as "the red city".

When you're ready, with your back to the way you came in, exit to the right and continue walking over to the other courtyard, the most beautiful one.

Preview mode limited to first 3 locations.
