Theatreland Tour with Ian McKellen
Stop here where the road opens up into the great confluence of streets which is known as Cambridge Circus. And to your left you can now see the facade of the Palace Theatre.
This is the theatre where Les Miserables began its record-breaking nineteen years. It was adapted from the novel by Victor Hugo of the same name. People say Les Miserables is one of the best books of the 19th century. I'm not so sure. I mean, it's good but nothing to make a song and dance about.
Now, turn away from the Palace Theatre, off to your right. Yes there we go. And a few yards down this road you’re turning right again, into Earlham Street.
