Prince Henry's Room
Stop on the street corner for a moment and look across to the black and white timber-framed building. This is Prince Henry's Room, dating to 1610 and a rare survivor of the Great Fire of London with the flames fizzling out only yards away.
You might also notice the arched doorway underneath where fans of the DaVinci Code are often tempted to enter in search of the mythical home of the Knight's Templars. This doorway also guards the route to Temple Hall where Shakespeare premiered Twelth Night.
But for now let's stroll straight on across Chancery Lane and aim for the rather large dragon guarding the middle of the road ahead of you.
