    Turn down Ball Court

Turn right here down the narrow alleyway called Ball Court, right under an old-fashioned green sign for Simpson's Tavern.

Simpson's Tavern dates from the 18th century. Once it was said that this is where the idea of tipping began as they had a bowl with the words 'To Insure Prompt Service'. It seems that the word 'tip' is much older so even Simpsons do not claim this any more.
